Discontinuance of Budapp® nasal sprayChiesi GmbH announces that it has discontinued Budapp® nasal spray as of 1 September 2025. The product is an intranasal glucocorticoid (ICS) containing the active ingredient budesonide.
The preparation is used to treat and prevent seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, including hay fever, and nasal polyps.
In recent years, the relevance of this product in the market has declined significantly, making production for the German market neither economical nor sustainable.
Stock levels have been or are being gradually sold off, and availability can no longer be guaranteed on a permanent basis.
There is no risk of inadequate patient care, as there are sufficient comparable preparations in this class of active ingredients available.
