Learning and Development

We learn new things every day and support all employees in finding their personal superpowers.

At Chiesi, we strive for a “growth mindset”. This reflects the belief that our abilities and talents are not fixed or set in stone, but rather adaptable and capable of development. The motivation for continuous learning enables us to keep pace with change and grow both professionally and personally. Furthermore, we aim to foster a culture in which employees actively shape their learning goals, with measures tailored to individual needs.

Development at Chiesi is based on the 70-20-10 model. This model weights the areas in which we acquire new skills for our work. We develop every day, often without realising or reflecting on it:

  • 70% of our skills are acquired independently through our daily work activities (on the job).
  • 20% we learn from colleagues through what is known as “social learning”.
  • 10% of our skills are gained through traditional training measures such as courses.

Only by becoming aware of this does skills development become sustainable, practical and successful: these principles are reflected in all our approaches.
