B Corp

Chiesi has been a B Corp-certified company since 2019. B Corp is an international certification that the non-profit organisation B Lab awards to companies that create and continuously improve added value for society and the environment.

Thanks to B Corp, we have had an independent certification process for our commitment since 2019 that makes our efforts around sustainability transparent and measurable. We look at the categories of corporate governance, employees, society, the environment and our customers.

Benefit Corporation

Back in 2018, we enshrined our convictions into our legal structure and converted our corporate format in the USA, Italy and France (2021) into a benefit corporation. As such, we undertook an obligation to provide verifiable added value for society and the environment in addition to private economic benefits. This form of company does not exist in Germany. Even so, we have included similar wording in our company statutes.

United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, the UN adopted the 2030 Agenda and set 17 global sustainability goals for socially, economically and environmentally sustainable development. Chiesi is committed to these Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focussing on nine goals where we can make a significant impact with our resources and capabilities. Since 2020, we have been using B Lab’s SDG Action Manager tool to evaluate and improve our performance.

At Chiesi, we believe in the “Do good, do well, repeat!” principle. This philosophy emphasises our commitment to finding successful business solutions (Do well) that benefit society (Do good) and reinvest in impactful projects (Repeat). We aim to bring about positive change and show that “Doing good & doing well” are not only compatible, but actually reinforce each other.
